We expand these assessments to include 12 species of native and non-native crop pollinators of differing levels of body size, sociality, and floral specialization

Bees were collected throughout 2016 and 2017 from flowering blueberry, squash, pumpkin, sunflower and okra in south Mississippi, USA. Within 30-60 minutes of capture, bees were installed in bioassay cages made from transparent plastic cups and dark amber jars. Bees were fed via dental wicks saturated with sugar syrup containing a realistic range of sublethal concentrations of imidacloprid that are often found in nectar. Bees displayed no visible tremors or convulsions except for a small sweat bee, Halictus ligatus, and only at 100ppb syrup. Imidacloprid shortened the captive longevities of the solitary bees. Tolerant bee species lived ~10 to 12 days in the bioassays and included two social and one solitary species: Halictus ligatus, Apis mellifera and Ptilothrix bombiformis , respectively. No other bee species tolerated imidacloprid as well as honey bees did, which exhibited no appreciable mortality and only modest paralysis across concentration. In contrast, native bees either lived shorter lives, experienced longer paralysis, or endured both. Overall, longevity decreased with concentration linearly for social bees and non-linearly for solitary species. The percentage of a bee's captive lifespan spent paralyzed increased logarithmically with concentration for all species, although bumble bees suffered longest. Of greatest concern was comparable debilitation of agriculturally valuable solitary bees at both low and high sublethal rates of freely reproduced, distributed, transmitted, modified, built upon, or otherwise used by anyone for any lawful purpose. Light chain 1 is a highly conserved leucine-rich repeat protein associated with the microtubule-binding domain of the Chlamydomonas outer dynein arm γ heavy chain. LC1 mutations in humans and trypanosomes lead to motility defects while its loss in oomycetes results in aciliate zoospores. Here we describe a Chlamydomonas LC1 null mutant . This strain has reduced swimming velocity and beat frequency, can undergo waveform conversion but often exhibits loss of hydrodynamic coupling between the cilia. Following deciliation, Chlamydomonas cells rapidly rebuild cytoplasmic stocks of axonemal dyneins. Loss of LC1 disrupts the kinetics of this cytoplasmic preassembly such that most outer arm dynein heavy chains remain monomeric even after several hours. This suggests that association of LC1 with its heavy chain-binding site is a key step or checkpoint in the outer arm dynein assembly process. Similar to strains lacking the entire outer arm and inner arm I1/f, we found that loss of LC1 and I1/f in dlu1-1 ida1 double mutants resulted in cells unable to build cilia under normal conditions. Furthermore, dlu1-1 cells do not exhibit the usual ciliary extension in response to lithium treatment. Together, these observations suggest that LC1 plays an important role in the maintenance of axonemal stability. OBJECTIVE: Noninvasive detection of molecular status of astrocytoma is of great clinical significance for predicting therapeutic response and prognosis. We aimed to evaluate whether morphological MRI , SWI, DWI, and DSC-PWI could predict Ki-67 labeling index , ATRX mutation, and MGMT promoter methylation status in IDH mutant astrocytoma. METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed mMRI, SWI, DWI, and DSC-PWI in 136 patients with IDH-mut astrocytoma. The features of mMRI and intratumoral susceptibility signals were compared using Fisher exact test or chi-square tests. Purchase was used to compare the minimum ADC ), and minimum relative ADC ) of IDH-mut astrocytoma in different molecular markers status. Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare the rCBV of IDH-mut astrocytoma with different molecular markers status. Receiver operating characteristic curves was performed to evaluate their diagnostic performances. RESULTS: ITSS, ADC , rADC , and rCBV were significantly different between high and low Ki-67 LI groups. ITSS, ADC , and rADC were significantly different between ATRX mutant and wild-type groups. Necrosis, edema, enhancement, and margin pattern were significantly different between low and high Ki-67 LI groups. vitamin d3 deficiency was significantly different between ATRX mutant and wild-type groups. Grade 3 IDH-mut astrocytoma with unmethylated MGMT promoter was more likely to show enhancement compared to the methylated group. CONCLUSIONS: mMRI, SWI, DWI, and DSC-PWI were shown to have the potential to predict Ki-67 LI and ATRX mutation status in IDH-mut astrocytoma. A combination of mMRI and SWI may improve diagnostic performance for predicting Ki-67 LI and ATRX mutation status.
